Knee Pain Relief Treatments
We Offer A Variety Of Non-Surgical Treatments For Knee Pain
Many different factors can be the cause of knee and joint pain. Whether you are recovering from a knee injury, or suffer from disorders such as osteoarthritis or gout, inflammation or cartilage loss, we are able to treat a wide range of situations involving knee pain. At Advanced Spine & Joint, our specialists address each case individually, and respond with a personalized treatment plan using the most appropriate therapeutic remedies.
Traditionally, options for patients with severe knee pain have been limited to arthroscopic knee surgery to reconstruct ligament tears and damage, or possibly total knee joint replacement. Both surgeries require several months of rehab, and many risks are involved.
Advanced Spine & Joint offers several non-surgical treatments for people suffering from knee pain due to damage to the knee meniscus, ACL or MCL, cartilage, or are facing a degenerative condition affecting the joints. Our goal is to provide every patient with the most advanced and comprehensive therapy available. With all the latest technologies in regenerative medicine under one roof, we are able to effectively treat a multitude of conditions causing knee pain, without the need for surgery.

Plasma Rich Protein (PRP) Therapy
The human body has an inherent ability to heal tissue, but in certain areas that capacity is just not great. New cells are created all the time in the body, in order to replace old or damaged tissue, but, with age, this capability decreases. Even in younger individuals, the capability is slight (e.g. knee cartilage when damaged). Certain conditions, such as degenerative arthritis, can cause severe joint pain, and conventional medicine offers treatment that may mask the pain temporarily, but not alter the condition itself. With the help of regenerative medicine and options such as platelet rich plasma therapy (PRP), things are changing right now to repair damaged tissue.
Plasma makes up the liquid part of human blood, and it contains red cells, white cells, and platelets. Platelets exist in the blood all the time. They play a vital role in blood clotting during an injury and with helping the repair process itself. Once activated, they start releasing proteins responsible for healing, called growth factors. When platelet rich plasma is administered to a person, these growth factors speed up the body’s normal healing capability and may push it farther than it would normally go.
Class 4 Deep Tissue Laser Therapy
There are many non-invasive methods of pain relief out there that can eliminate discomfort without any recover time. At Advanced Spine & Joint, Class 4 Deep Tissue Laser Therapy is one of the treatments we use to alleviate pain and stimulate healing in our patients. Many people find that they experience immediate results after a short laser therapy session.
Using infrared lasers with a power output of over 500 milliwatts, Class 4 Laser Therapy penetrates the affected tissues, such as muscles, ligaments and bones. Our doctors can adjust the strength of the laser according to your specific condition to get the most powerful results.
When the laser hits the tissue, this causes a chain of events that lead to the production of adenosine tri-phosphate, which the cells use for energy. This, in turn, stimulates the injured cells in order to enhance healing, improve nerve function, increase vascular activity, reduce pain and reduce inflammation. The entire process is fairly quick, taking only 5-25 minutes per session.
At Advanced Spine & Joint pride ourselves in our ability to offer each patient the best combination of holistic pain management therapies. After a complete evaluation and diagnosis has been given, we develop a custom treatment program that will fit the patient’s specific needs. We focus first on relieving the inflamed and injured areas of the knee. Once inflammation is reduced, our team can assist in rehabilitating and strengthening weakened areas to provide the strength they need to exercise and heal. This makes it possible to not only relieve pain quickly, but also maintain the results for a lifetime. Included is a session on home exercise and things to do at home to aid in recovery, strengthen the knee, and improve flexibility and physical activity.
